Car detailing is the thorough and professional cleaning that can make your car look just like the new one. The professional car detailers have specialized tools and equipment that help cleaning minor dirt particles, remove scratches, and swirl marks. With the right techniques and adequate tools, the result is a bright, shining, and polished exterior with a cleaned interior.

If you don’t have enough time to get your car detailed from the professionals, or you want to experiment on your own, then here is the systematic guide to detail your car at home.

However, we’ll have to say that detailing the car home won’t generate results equivalent to the professional detailers. You can put in your effort and see how well you can do.

Interior Detailing:

To detail the interior of the car, you need to start with manual trash picking. If you have cans, tissue papers, and candy wrappers lying in your vehicle, it is vital to pick them up manually, as vacuuming would not help.

Now remove the car mats and carpets for cleaning them separately. You’ll need a brush with car washing soap for cleaning them. When you are sure all the dirt is removing, then rinse them with water.

Once done, you can start vacuuming to pull out all the dirt from the carpets and upholstery. This will allow you to take out the visible dust from your car.

With all these things done, use a microfiber cloth to wipe the entire interior surface. Use was for bringing in shine.

For the upholstery, use an upholstery cleaning foam on all the seats and door panels. Let the foam stay there for a few minutes, and then use the brush. It will help in taking out the stains and odors.

You can apply protection gels and waxes to create shine on the outer surface. Besides, they will form a layer against dirt that can elongate the life of the seat clothing.

Now, it is time to clean the glasses. Use the glass cleaner with a microfiber towel to get all the stains out and give a neat end look to the windows.

Exterior Detailing:

You should start with washing the tires. Use a scrubber or brush to remove all mud.

Use shampoo and a microfiber towel to clean the body of your car. Move from top to bottom, and you’ll see some amazing results. Once done, rinse it off with water.

Now dry the exterior with a dry microfiber towel.

Use wax and shining spray with the microfiber towel on the entire exterior, and you’ll see a visible shine on the surface. A pro tip here is the more you’ll rub the wax, the more shine it will generate. But don’t overdo it because that will cause swirl marks.

Most people going for detailing services at home skip the fixation of paint and scratch removal part. This is what we suggest to you as well. If you aren’t professional, you might cause more damage while fixing the existing issues.

So, better to have a clean and shiny car, and you can leave the denting and painting tasks to your next car detailing appointment.
